I know some of the hardcore ‘I had the demo tapes before the official releases were out’ Ariel Pink fans won’t care for this dreamy sixties-vibe he’s going for in ‘Only In My Dreams’ but they need to crawl back into the blog-hole they came from: this is my favourite song of the moment.

There’s always a Jay Reatard track or two on my mixtapes and this is the one I’ve been playing most these past couple of weeks:

D’Angelo did a surprise show with ?uestlove at Bonaroo a while back and it’s damn near perfection. The only D’Angelo track to make the setlist was ‘Chicken Grease’  but otherwise there’s a whole range of classics to be cherished here, performed by the absolute masters of the game.

Beach House ‘Wild’ is the opening track for all my summer drive mixtapes this year.

Can’t wait for Chilly Gonzales‘ new Solo Piano record.

There was a moment a few months ago when my love called me into the kitchen to show me a live video from Frank Ocean and we both kind of looked at each other and went: ‘Holy shit, superstar’. Seems like the rest of the world is having a similar moment.

Pyramids is an obvious favourite from Channel Orange.

But lately I’ve also been revisiting ‘Thinking About You’: a total high-pitched car belter of a love song.

And finally, a classic to close: an all-time favourite: ‘spottieottiedopaliscious’ by OutKast.
