EYECANDY SMÖRGASBORD feat. The Big Pink, Traci Lords, Agyness Dean and Terry Richardson do Michael Jackson, Jay Reatard, Martin Margiela, eighties Russian LP Covers, etc.

Good copy makes all the difference.
Here’s some other stuff that inspired/horrified/confused me recently…
Looks like The Big Pink is securing bigger budgets for their videos. Love this track. “Dominos” was directed by Timothy Saccenti, who also did portraits for Animal Collective , Jamie Lidell and these great pics for ‘School of Seven Bells’

Ready for some retro nudity, eighties Russian LP covers, Terry Richardson and Agyness Dean teaming up for a Michael Jackson tribute, Martin Margiela cult looks + what might be the best punk rock album of 2009? Then by all means, read on.

Michael Caine in a 1969 photoshoot called ‘War Games’. Found at The Scandy Factory, who also reminded me of the Traci Lords “Jazzthetics’ video from 1984.

Not bad, but not as good as Beverly Hills Copulator (1986) if you ask me. If you want some more Traci: here she is singing ‘Somebody to Love’ with The Ramones.
Now that you’re all hot and flustered, let’s take a breather with Mayer Hawthorne’s latest effort on StonesThrow:
Maybe so, Maybe no.
Geek intermezzo:

People building/maintaining/cursing over their own blogs will get this.
Back to the good stuff:
Jay Reatard – It Ain’t Gonna Save Me. Buy his first proper solo album “Watch Me Fall” out now on Matador. Not a bad track on it. Or follow the man on Twitter, where he’s his usual friendly and coherent self.

Found this Pedestrian TV: Agyness Deyn and Terry Richardson channel Michael Jackson for Harper’s Bazaar September issue.

Buy the jacket from Fierce Costumes for 80 $!!

More cult:

My favourite things about this cover: the seashell (WTF?), the lock on Igor’s forehead thoughtfully draped across his forehead only seconds before this picture was taken and the fact that they are actually called Igor and Natasha.

“Open Your Sesame.” There’s nothing I can add to this sentence, in combination with that jacket and that hair, that will intensify the tickling sensation already lighting up your belly.

no comment.

Not that far off from what the KNOTORYUS head office looks like.Absolutely love the BASF tape on the desk.
And in closing, as promised: nothing beats the wierdness of the Martin Margiela lookbook.
