Feliz Navidad de todos KNOTORYUSOS!

KNOTORYUS was founded on the principle of “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law”.

We love what we do. So when we got together with Randstad marketing brass and decided the new issue of Randstad Magazine should be all about ‘How to feel better about kickstarting work after the vacation’, we were instantly brimming with ideas.

Old favourites Axion (by Dexia bank) are KNOTORYUS’ eldest clients, but they never rest on the their laurels. We are proud to confirm we are part of a new and innovating Axion web project that will be released very soon. Keep an eye on our site or subscribe to their newsletter, also co-written by KNOTORYUS.

Speaking of innovation: Ello Mobile, front-runner in ‘clean, green’ mobile phone subscriptions have updated their site and we were happy lend a helping hand.

And there’s a new kid on the KNOTORYUS block. Volkswagen’s youth-oriented marketing tool ‘Escape TV’ was looking for someone who could amp up the Dutch version of their newsletter and came a-knockin’ on our front door. Come on in, VW!

And to conclude:

Within  the next couple of months, you won’t be able to buy a new Sony VAIO laptop anywhere in Europe without receiving some KNOTORYUS copy with it. Stickers on the computer and a separate leaflet have been tweaked by yours truly. Pretty cool.

Aahhhh. Look at it, nestling nicely in between the best of current design and illustration. All you need to do now, is snatch it up.

Starting today (August 5 – 2008), FACE EVERYBODY AND RULE, the first official KNOTORYUS book, will be available at the awesome TOYKYO store in Ghent.

What’s the book about?

LGF: Photography, illustrations and ideas that came out as drawings.

When I first read the name, I thought you were Russian.

LGF: Haha. No. I see many twisted frowns when people try to read “KNOTORYUS” out loud. Thus far, only one guy ever got it right without even blinking. He was pretty fried, though. Maybe that’s what did it.

But you do have good taste?

LGF: Who says Russians don’t have good taste? Aside from borsjt, maybe. And those male ice-skaters with way too much cleavage. What’s up with that?

There’s a rather disturbing drawing of someone’s balls being served on a plate. They looked old. Who’s got old balls then?

LGF: It’s a play on the ‘revenge is a dish best served cold’ cliché. You can imagine those balls belong to your annoyingly successful ex-lover, your boss or that guy on TV who just won’t shut up. These KNOTORYUS balls are for you.

What’s the best time ‘o’ day to flick through FACE EVERYBODY AND RULE?

LGF: 3 A.M. After you’ve been lying awake for hours. Your eyes are burning and the back of your brain is buzzing like an old fridge. Flick through our book, turn off the lights and let it all sink in. Aaaaah…sweet dreams.

Everything you have heard is true…

KNOTORYUS is publishing its first book. More info and images after the jump.

It’s called: “Face Everybody And Rule” and it will be dropping at selected stores next week. We’ll let you know when and where. More previews to come.

Hold on to them, because they just turned vintage.

The old KNOTORYUS logo is no more. This is the new, hotter, slightly bored and almost annoyingly attractive version of the KNOTORYUS you have come to know and love.

Apart from introducing our new logo, I’ve taken the opportunity to tighten the bolts of the site.

Everything should run a bit smoother and there’s more room for the pretty pictures.

A blog for the big ass Randstad Jobtour (we also provided the copy for the entire campaign – nationwide, hon!).

Shout out to all the brainiacs extra-ordinaires at Mo Ka!

Then the Sony UK mothership wanted us to provide the copy for their new campaign.

Okay, okay.

Then, Glam*it had me talking about how surfing is pretty great should you wanna funk up your tits & ass game.

Which is pretty funny since I’m our world’s stupidest surfer. That’s no slang. When it comes to surfing I’m like the Gump. I know it’s purrrretty, but I just don’t get it. And I just can’t. (My mom sent me to camps, but when I turned fifteen Neptunus was like enough is enough dudes. Let’s give the fish a rest. And for fuck’s sake stop talking trash to my friend the wind. )

I do understand the surfer bod, though. So, I still wrote a pretty dope article + gave ‘em a surfPod to enjoy.

One of my favourite things this month! I was hired to write a bunch of scenarios for a new travel show. National TV. Major fun. Mentors are good for you, kids. Honor ‘em. Thank you Monsieur Luc Van Laer for the hook-up.

Then we produced the MAGNUM blog. This is like a major Pax Media. It’s like Marie-Claire doing stuff with ELLE doing stuff with VOGUE doing stuff with Jalouse. Loving it! Thank you, sweet co-bloggers. Troopers for real!

This is such a small part of our May situation, so LGF is going to do another update.

A small update on some work we’ve been churning out.

When it comes to jobs, Randstad is literally the biggest in Belgium. To bring their humongous job-databank to the people, they designed an ‘office on wheels’, which will be touring all major cities during April and May.

KNOTORYUS helped create a viral pre-campaign (read the funny hahah stuff here), wrote the Randstad Jobtour Gazette and streamlined all the copy for the Jobtour site. Keep an eye on the Jobtour blog, ‘cuz we’ll be doing some ‘on location’ reporting as the events unfurl.

What have we been doing?

We’ve filled a whole new issue of TMF Mag with snow-related goodness.

If you can afford a house that’s so big that you need an automatic stair lift and you want us to give you something to read…. We will produce a magazine for you, dammit! Even if it means having to write about Celine Dion.

As per usual, we are still servicing about 100.000 Axioneers with their online communication, in collaboration with Dexia and Boondoggle.

The first issue of Randstad Magazine went online yesterday. Content & Editing (the lot: copy, interviews, direction, production, styling…) by KNOTORYUS, Concept & Design by Mo Ka

If you’re part of Sony’s Club VAIO and you live in Europe, you’re subscribed to KNOTORYUS. We’ve been writing their European newsletters, streamlining their subscription pages and we’ve just finished a whole new showcase for their Digital Home solutions. In collaboration with the good people of Sony Europe (Hi, Valerie!) and Nascom.

People have invited us to re-think all sorts of things, from santa’s headgear to tobacco retail. (No foolin’…) Coke is brooding on some spectacular stuff and we’re totally honoured to be a part of the international think thank. Can’t tell you nuthin’, though. (It’s not Olympic coke, I can tell you that much.)

We also bumped heads with the European market leader when it comes to quality control in various health care departments. Apparently, they need cool & clear websites as much as the next guy! The first meeting was held in a meeting room filled with (real) gold Elvis records. Turned out, the general manager/CEO is one of the biggest Elvis fans you’ll ever meet. The art director next to him used to be a cop in Amsterdam. He had a lot of hilarious Herman Brood stories.

More? Yes, more. Styling for a.o. MMV (PR by Oona). Versace china and everything.

Lots of time spent writing the first KNOTORYUS articles commissioned by Glam*It.
