KNOTORYUS 1/2′s Current TOP 1
1.
Nadege Winter: This woman never ceases to amaze me! Her wisdom combined with a few lessons from Oprah? Forget about it… It’s all a girl needs to know!

I CAN RUN BUT I CAN’T HIDE (IT’S ALL INSIDE)
This has been strangely addicting to me these past few weeks: the Swedish “band” The Tough Alliance are an art collective/political group pretending to be pop stars. This week marks their first official release in the US. The video above is for their new single: ‘Holiday’. Expect them to pop up in your favourite hipster/fashion mag soon.
After the jump: see what their release party for the newest LP ‘A New Chance’ was like and discover their Bros-like video for ‘First Class Riot’ and my favourite: the painfully sweet ’25 Years and Running’.
More Swedish poptastic stuff here.
FALL 2007
This just in: the Uniqlo Fall 07 collection: return of the mac and the puffa. So this fall it’s all about the puffa and the varsity jacket (as worn by the Ed Banger crew, or perhaps.. if that’s your thing: Michael J. Fox in ‘Teen Wolf’ ).
To illustrate further: Viktor & Rolf for Allegri (Fall collection 07, photography by Vinoodh Matadin & Ines van Lamsweerde)
After te jump: more male & female puffed up fun.
LIARS LIARS LIARS
The new single from Berlin based art rockers Liars: – “Plaster Casts Of Everything” will probably never make it to your TV.
The video was directed by Patrick Daughters, who did a ton of Yeah Yeah Yeahs before.
FYI: Liars also play on the new David Shrigley work “Worries Noodles”.
After the jump: more vids by Patrick and what the Liars reminded me of: ‘Cindy Lauper: I Drove All Night’.
ZACH GALIFIANAKIS vs. Will Oldham Vs. KANYE WEST
In what is perhaps the greatest video ever made, comedian Zach Galafianakis and Will “Bonnie Prince Billy” Oldham take on Kanye West’s current single “Can’t Tell Me Nuthin” on a farm.
After the jump: Zach’s similar efforts with Fiona Apple’s “It’s Not about love”
PAY IT FORWARD, LIKE YOU SHOULD
You know what the most beautiful thing in the world according to me is?
(For the sake of it, I’m excluding Knotoryus bonding nights, lunches & afternoons, knocking back flutes of LP with my girls or Danny Mommens impersonations by Le Grand Fromage.)
Well, it’s finding the super talented (we need new people to impersonate) through our own research, mailing back and forth, them gracing us with an interview for this site or them giving us their VIP-companionship to the best party of the first half of 2007 (and the whole of 2006, for all that matters) and then… being able to thank them by doing a feature on them in the biggest (yes, still) fashion magazine in the world.
MODESELEKTOR
Berlin is burning: Modeselektor, makers of “Die Technoprostitutionsmaschine” are releasing a new album ‘Happy Birtday’ featuring a.o. Thom Yorke, Apparat & TTC. Out in September.
HORSE THE BAND
Horse The Band is set to release their first widely distributed album “A Natural Death” on August the 28th, spreading the word on California moustaches, soapy moshpit bubbles, and Nintendo 8-bit Metal across the globe.
From their website:
“The album is set to launch in like 6 online music stores and each store is gonna have different added extras like MIDI tracks, human bone necklaces, and…. SIGNED POSTERS! Ta-da. We are hoping that some of you will buy the album 7 times. If you do, send us all the receipts and we will send you a Snickers CRUNCHER.”

DO MY LADIES RUN THIS MOTHERFUCKER?
I wasn’t too sure about Hellz Bellz before. I mean, they make good stuff (cfr. the pic of blondie in the You Lazy!-post), but they’ve also produced a couple of rather shitty shirts (everything with Minnie Mouse, Guns & fake Chanel)…
Anyway, no more hatin’ from this side: now that I’ve seen the preview of their fall collection, I’m totally hooked!
Two days, two young brands doing it for us females!
More Hellz Bellz Fall 07 after the jump!
RATTLE & ROLL
We’ve long been fans of Leah McSweeny’s brand Married To The Mob and since we’ve met the woman our level of respect has only grown. Why? This girl decided to start her dope brand after drinking way too many margarita’s with her best friend. She used the money from a harassment-lawsuit she filed against the NYPD to fund her first laptop and get an apartment to set up MOBshop. She breast feeds lil baby Kier (named after Deee-Lite hotness Lady Miss Kier) while checking her emails. She puts her supermodel-sister in lesbo chique campaigns to promote her stuff and in the accompanying video says things like “If I’d been a guy, I’d be hard right now”. AND she collaborated with KAWS on this dope bikini! Only 200 will be made… (more pics after the jump)
