IT’S PANTS
I don’t know about you, but I would really enjoy having a friend named James Pants.
“Are you coming tonight?”
“Who else is going?”
“James Pants.”
“I’ll be there.”
Sadly, James Pants is not my friend. Elitist bastard. But he did put together this quirky, irresistible mix for Stones Throw records, so I forgive him. Tracklisting after the jump.
FLAIRS: “Better than Prince” by Jonas & François
Quote:
“After JUSTICE “D.A.N.C.E” and many other stunning videos, please enjoy the First FLAIRS animated cartoon by JONAS & FRANCOIS…. Handmade, 3000 paper sheets, a simple printer-computer & scanner trio, 7 black ink pencils, sometimes drawn in a Tokyo Hotel room, a Paris studio or on a Madonna video shoot in London, it’s black & white simplicity suits the track like the best wedding possible….”
KNOTORYUS SMILES
The first clip after the jump made me laugh so hard, coffeesnot came out of my nose. (always an indication it’s going to be a good day)

BERNARD WILHEM SALUTES YOUR SALUTATION
I’m not one for flag-waving. But I’ll salute these Bernard Wilhelm sneaks any day. They dropped this week.
RAIN ON YOU LIKE CONFETTI
I know it’s wrong. But I’m posting the new R. Kelly. It’s the ridiculous chain Kels is wearing, it’s rhyming ‘I’m gonna rain on you like confetti’ with ‘See my braids, got’em looking like spaghetti’ and at that exact moment pulling back his hoodie to reveal his braids, painted red like.. spaghetti. Then it dips into clichés (slowed down voices, vocoders, photoshoot flashes) and I’m already thinking ‘Why am I wasting my time on this?” and then: Bam! A golden Sisqo moment at 3:06. What? I can’t have guilty pleasures?
Ok ok. I have some certified hipster stuff, too. Get a first peek at YELLE’s (surprisingly good) collabo with Reebok and my new favourite T-shirt after the jump.
SOULWAX – PART OF THE WEEKEND NEVER DIES – FIRST OFFICIAL TRAILER
Wow. Just. Wow. Director Saam Farahmajiggy has not been churning out his best work lately (the Janet video with the globes: what was that?). But the teaser for the Soulwax documentary “Part of the Weekend Never Dies” looks amazing. Check it after the jump.
