We took the lil one (5) to see the ‘The Karate Kid’ remake.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it, plus our mornings have been a lot quieter ever since as she has been faithfully practising “The Cobra” after brushing her teeth…

Here it is: 6 track snippets off of the Daft Punk soundtack to the new Tron movie. It doesn’t sound like the new Daft Punk bangers everyone is waiting for, but it is dark and moody and huge, like I hoped it would be.

Dutch band ‘Palmbomen’ released an EP that will be classified as ‘chillwave’ by your local snobby record dealer: muted synths, lo-fi vocals and a chill vibe. Think Human League, played by Ariel Pink.

Deerhunter just gave away two new songs as a present to their fans: “Revival” (the new single off of the soon to be released album Halcyon Digest) and B-side Primitive 3D.

But then suddenly, a bolt of lightning came from the sky, the heavens opened up and I realised I was online today for one reason and one reason only: the glory of the Ultimate Warrior – Major Lazer tag team. Now, I wasn’t thinking about picking up some early 1970′s Nigerian psychedlica today. But these three little nuggets from the new ‘The World Ends’ compilation that dropped yesterday sure got my mouth watering. With all these summer mixtapes dropping like tired old flies, this unexpected gem is my favourite find so far.

Brooklyn label SoftSpot has just released “We Live in a System” by the short-lived Belgian band Kebab. You can have the cult classic ‘Life, it’s a joke’ for free.
