THREE THINGS THAT MADE ME HAPPY RECENTLY
1. Seeing Flag live
A cliché question amongst music bores is ‘best festival line-up dead or alive’. Black Flag would always be on my list. Ideally, Keith Morris would sing most of the set and Henry Rollins would sing ‘My War’ with Kira on bass. FLAG, a reunited Black Flag without Greg Ginn, is as close to that fantasy as I’ll ever get. If you watch closely, you can see me (and my best friend next to me) getting stomped in the left corner of your screen.

Unfortunatley, that was the least of it. The muscles on the right side of my neck got infected after being overly stressed at the gig, so I ended up in the emergency room at the hospital a few days later.

DON QUIXOTE, SUSPENDED
So instead of scratching the surface with the weekly mixtapes, from now on I’m digging deeper and serving up a video related to all tracks on the mixtape. If you like, you can just listen to the tape. You’ll be done in less than half an hour. Or you can disappear into the infinitely large pool of moving images that lies beneath it. It depends how your life is timed, I suppose.

OFF! doesn’t do three minutes. But somehow, director Richard Kern is able to take the one minute and fourteen seconds of angry awesomeness (including *gasp* guitar solo) that is ‘Wiped Out’ and cram it full of moshpits, heavily breathing hipster girls, skate FAILs, surf FAILs, chubby kids french kissing and good ol’ punk rock shouting.
