This preview of the new Lustmord alone is enough to blow every piece of crud that was clotting your brain straight out. Please don’t listen to this on your tinny ‘they-came-with-the-computer’ speakers. Headphones on, people.
A SCUZZBUCKET FULL OF WONDER: GARAGE SWIM MIXTAPE free download feat. Black Lips, Mikal Cronin, King Khan, Mikal Cronin, etc.
ult Swim just released the full version of their mixtape Garage Swim and it’s a jangly and filthy scuzzbucket full of wonder and basically my favourite thing right now
we are not in the habit of posting leaks and unofficial uploads. But this
bandcamp link has been up for a full day, and although there has been an official statement saying this is not the long-awaited debut album, this collection of demos (?) is still live, which makes me doubt whether the official label (XL) has any problems with it. My guess is these are Jai Paul’s scraps falling off the table, while we wait for the full, no doubt scrumptious spread that awaits us all. Well worth the listen and download, whatever it turns out to be.
5 girls to pay attention to: Savages, Anika, Thought Forms, Hella Better Dancer, Marnie Stern
Today the inside of my cranium resembles a darkened room where I need to keep the shiny ball spinning. An excellent day to turn to the absolutely filthy beatselection of Tim Peters, part of Project Ü, in his newest

It’s drop day! “Oolala, Mazeltov, what can I say?”
Le1f takes the lead in New York club rap with his own particular brand of gusto and guffow-inducing lyrics on the follow-up to “Dark York”: “Fly Zone”. The beats are .. well … fly … and I love it that in 2013 I can download a solid hiphop mixtape of an MC that pronounces “soft” as “sowft” and hands me hooks like “get your bunz up” to compliment my hefty collection of “get your gunz up” tracks.
You know what? This year is going to be different.
Stuff you’ve hoped for. Stuff that never happens. Stuff that matters. It’s happening now.
So instead of scratching the surface with the weekly mixtapes, from now on I’m digging deeper and serving up a video related to all tracks on the mixtape. If you like, you can just listen to the tape. You’ll be done in less than half an hour. Or you can disappear into the infinitely large pool of moving images that lies beneath it. It depends how your life is timed, I suppose.
Listenin’ for the sippenin’ trippenin’ & tippenin’.
