TEN SPOT SPECIAL: RUNWAY MUSIC SPRING / SUMMER 2013
The weekly KNOTORYUS mixtape: ten songs on Spotify, mostly themed. This week: ten songs used on runways for spring / summer 2013 feat. Vivaldi recomposed by Max Richter, the Archies, Chromatics, Junior Kimbrough, Planningtorock, Fatima Al Qadiri, Chromatics, Young Marble Giants and Tame Impala.
I’ll add the ‘where have they used this’ list to the tracklist as soon as I come out of hiding for the weekend, promise.

RUNWAY SOUNDTRACK: MARC JACOBS SPRING SUMMER 2012
Marc Jacobs’ SS 12 soundtrack was heavy on the Philip Glass, with a highbrow-broadway–play-like catwalk and models posed on wooden chairs. No matter what people thought about the designs themselves, this will forever be ‘that Marc Jacobs collection that got stolen from the train.’
CATWALK SOUNDTRACKS – MARC JACOBS SPRING-SUMMER 2011
Next summer, Marc Jacobs will have you break out the big floppy straw hats, electric 70′s orange flowing garbs and huge flower-like belts, buttons and chokers. Combine this with the hot pants, snake-hips and big glasses we’ve seen all over and you might as well take your cue from a John Currin catalogue if you’re one to follow trends.
CATWALK SOUNDTRACK: GARETH PUGH SPRING/SUMMER 2010
Gareth Pugh’s vision of summer looks like the kind of garbs a friendly, advanced society would wear in an RPG game. He literally went from seeing everything in black and white to going for soft shades of grey.
Matthew Stone is (again) responsible for the soundtrack, which kind of sounds like the Spring Summer soundtrack from last year with a bit of the dark romance of Requiem for a Dream mixed in.
