Mon Colonel & Spit Expo + Book at Alice Gallery
The artist duo Mon Colonel & Spit, aka Belgians Eric Bassleer and Thomas Stiernon, is back to sculpt, fire up and break all the rules. For their latest exhibition titled ‘…I Can’t See Your Face ‘Cause I’m Looking At You…’ at the unskippable ALICE Gallery in Brussels, the Liège-based pair will kindle the early summer with a new body of work including watercolours and pastels on paper as well as ceramics. Harnessing the forces of sculpture, drawing, installation and painting, MC&S can be counted on to bring their offbeat, hyper-interpretative and kaleidoscopic ways to every medium they approach.
Coinciding with this new expo, ALICE Gallery and Ed Banger’s ‘Headbangers Publishing’ are launching the retrospective book “Souflettes. Vieux Dossiers 2007.2018”. The tome bundles over 10 years of Mon Colonel & Spit drawings and is clamouring to be perched proudly on your library shelves.
The show is also complemented by a second show named ‘Safaris’, featuring ceramic art sculpted by JC Earl – a French artist whose sculptures shine through the instinctive fragility of their material and the creator’s penchant for expressive imperfection.
