Com Truise - Ultrafiche of You

Com Truise knows his shit. That’s obvious when you read his interviews (like this one on KNOTORYUS only recently). His newest video “Ultrafiche of You”, directed by Gianluca Minucci, explores the theme of memories and what remains of a human lifetime, referencing a whole list of cinema legends including Ingmar Bergman, Tarkovsky and more.

(I’m pasting the thoughtful press release below.)

“Inspired by the evocative, haunting atmospheres of the track and by the cinema of Andrei Tarkovsky, Ingmar Bergman and Krzysztof Kieślowski, the video for Ultrafiche of You is a metaphysical journey through the seasons of life. From the feeling of expectation and lightness of Spring to the tender sweetness interposed with the emotional storms of Summer, from the empty melancholy of Autumn, characterized by the lost of personal relationships and memories, to the desolation and loneliness of Winter. Nonetheless, within this stark and grim atmosphere, there's a sense of hope and warmness. Each life, even the most common one, stays fixed with its mysterious meaning in the infinite album of the world. The Ultrafiches, like the Altar of the Dead by Henry James, give us the strength and fides to figure out that nothing is vain and everything remains. Everything really remains.

“I will remember this hour of peace: the stillness and the dusk, the bowl of wild strawberries and milk, your faces in the evening light. Mikael lying asleep, Jof with his lute. I will try and remember our words, and I will carry this memory between my hands as carefully as if it were a bowl of fresh milk. And this will be a sign for me... of great fulfilling and calm” (The Seventh Seal, Ingmar Bergman)”
