Flatbush ZOMBiES - "Afterlife" (Prod. James Blake)
The James Blake production on this excellent new Flatbush ZOMBiES track stands out by mixing early dubstep sounds (see: 2002 DJ Wonder - “What”) with his signature ethereal vocal chord progressions and precise piano breaks. The video is in itself a mesmerising exercise in X-Ray aesthetics pushed to the maximum. Even if you feel like being cynical about the X-ray idea, the insane level of execution will pull you in.
Directed by Arnaud Bresson (DIVISION).
Sidenote: The press clippings come with a Bhagavad Ghita quote, so yes this is spiritual.
“The spirit is neither born nor does it die at any time. It does not come into being or cease to exist. It is unborn, eternal, permanent and primeval.”
