Get ready to be dipped in translucent, gelatinous 2000’s angst, because Radiohead are re-releasing Kid A and Amnesiac as ‘KID A MNESIA’ with a ‘new’ single and promo video to go with it. “If You Say the Word” is exactly the kind of cutting combination Radiohead were coming up with late 90’s, early oughts: a slow, almost hopelessly sounding love song with lyrics that are easy to understand but are steeped in metaphorical death throes of spiritual change going back to Dante, combined with an equally bleak visual metaphor for modern-day capitalism.
