EYECANDY SMÖRGASBORD feat. Lily McMenamy, King Krule, Genesis P-Orridge, Drake, etc.
Diamond Generation ft. Lily McMenamy for Modern Weekly
Creative Direction: Frederik Heyman
I once had a two-hour conversation on the phone with Genesis P-Orridge. It was in the middle of the process that would transform the man (Genesis) into the woman he loved (Lady Jaye). We were supposed to call for an interview, but when that fell through we ended up having a long chat anyway about living inside the identity you create for yourself, sex and death and his memories of my home country, Belgium. I mostly remember his crackling laugh, though. At the end of the call, he called me 'an old soul and a kindred spirit' and insisted on us having met in another form somewhere long ago. The fact that the call took place in my mom's garden, where I was visiting for a weekend, somehow makes the memory fonder still.
Anyway,
the reborn Genesis P-Orridge has a coffee table book out and you can order it here.
If you order the deluxe version, you get:
"a 51cm square poster of intimate and explicit Polaroids revealing Genesis and Lady Jaye’s exploration of their bodies in their spiritual quest. Suitable for framing, but not for the easily-shocked."
King Krule - Easy Easy
Such a talented dude. Incredible. Love this song.
Drake - Versace
Massive Attack V Adam Curtis
Adam Curtis is a documentary maker whose 'All watched over by machines of loving grace' and 'The Power of Nightmares' I still haven't recovered from. His new stuff is a collaboration with Massive Attack and I can't wait to get my head twisted by it.
aaaaaaand as usual a funny one to end:
I don't know what that is, but it's official.
