I cannot not post this. Maybe you have seen this before. I have. But I have been playing it at least 3 times a day ever since.
We are looking forward to your new album Mr West! (which apparently is no longer called “Good Ass Job”)

We took the lil one (5) to see the ‘The Karate Kid’ remake.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it, plus our mornings have been a lot quieter ever since as she has been faithfully practising “The Cobra” after brushing her teeth… read more…
Dutch band ‘Palmbomen’ just released the “Moon Children” EP, which will be classified as ‘chillwave’ by your local snobby record dealer: muted synths, lo-fi vocals and a chill vibe. Think Human League, played by Ariel Pink.
Here’s the single: “Moon Children”
Press play. Or Download HERE
After the jump throwback bonus: download the Palmbomen Mixtape for Vice Magazine (Tom Tom Club, Kraftwerk, Carly Simon, Breakbot, etc.)
Deerhunter just gave away two new songs as a present to their fans: “Revival” (the new single off of the soon to be released album Halcyon Digest) and B-side Primitive 3D.
Soooooo, it’s hot out here in Brussels. I was just looking out the window, trying to catch a breeze, thinking of what I could post, almost giving up. Almost broken by the evils of mass distraction that is the internet. Almost. But then suddenly, a bolt of lightning came from the sky, the heavens opened up and I realised I was online today for one reason and one reason only: the glory of the Ultimate Warrior – Major Lazer tag team. This freak of nature right here, is just beginning to swell. And his greatness shall fill your screen and his screams will full your head to the majestic beats of the Mad Decent alliance. And when this remix gets big enough, there won’t be any more room. The internet won’t be big enough to hold all the dancefloor warriors. Experience the power of the WAAAAAAAgh!
Now, I wasn’t thinking about picking up some early 1970’s Nigerian psychedlica today. But these three little nuggets from the new ‘The World Ends’ compilation that dropped yesterday sure got my mouth watering. With all these summer mixtapes dropping like tired old flies, this unexpected gem is my favourite find so far.

More quality African cuts after the jump.
I was watching a documentary on Front242 the other day: same old mishmash of old footage and talking heads, really. One of those talking heads belonged to Luc Van Acker (a true raconteur: a man of a thousand stories – someone give this guy a book deal already!). In between anecdotes (”Front 242 said they wanted to kill the audience. I didn’t know it was a metaphor so on my first gig with them I jumped into the audience and started whacking people with my guitar. I didn’t look up until I stopped at the PA, where the sound guy was looking at me, stunned by confusion and fear.”) he started naming good Belgian bands playing in the post-punk era. Turns out there’s a lot of them. Good stuff, too. And as it turns out, there’s a growing scene hunting those lost tracks down. Brooklyn label SoftSpot has just released “We Live in a System” by the short-lived Belgian band Kebab. You can have the cult classic ‘Life, it’s a joke’ for free. Press play or hit the jump for the download.
