Art Comes First Marks 10-Year Anniversary With 'Exhibition'

Times flies when you’re hand-crafting Black Excellence. Sartorial supernovas Sam Lambert and Shaka Maidoh are celebrating ten years of Art Comes First with a Paris presentation and AW20 lookbook. Uniform of the rebel, ACF has been a paragon of community and culture-inspired style. From the prized collabs with Fred Perry, Calik Denim, PONY and Denham to their signature Savile Row-meets-punk tailoring sold across the globe, the sustainability discussion panels, brand consultancy, the interpretative art they inspire and so much more: it’s been a grand decade for Shakah Maidoh and Sam Lambert. We speak your name, sirs!

Get into their AW20 ‘Exhibition’ collection, resplendent with their trademark sharp black denim and suits, a striking paisley skull print, distressed knitwear, bright yellow and red with their signature knuckle duster scissors, heavy metal jewellery and debonair millinery.

So what’s next for ACF? As they recently told NATAAL Magazine: a new Fred Perry collab which will be ‘something special that mixes fashion with other art forms’, a visual project with artist Hassan Hajjaj, a collaboration with The Mighty Machines motorbike brand from Antwerp and the launch of vintage repurposing label ‘Laboratoires Blacksupermarket’ with Amah Ayivi. Booked and busy, in other words.

Art Comes First AW20 can be viewed from January 15-22 by appointment only during Paris Fashion Week.
