Black Vinyl Records was one of most feted independent deep house underground labels in London when it launched in the 90s. They gave underground dance impact singles by Kerri Chandler, Groove Assassins, Miguel Migs and so many more. Things went quiet for a while, when label owner Alan Russell took a break for a couple of years. But Black Vinyl is back with the force of composer-producer Sherø – pioneering Belgian artist Stephanie D’Olieslager’s new pseudonym after taking over the scene in the 90s as teenage dj D’Stephanie and later becoming internationally acclaimed dj-producer known as D’Steph. With her first release for the record company dropping on November 2, you better get prepared to move.

Sherø’s upcoming release “I Came to Jack” is already making positive waves; dj’s from New York and U.K. as well as critics dub the new track as “raw old skool New York house” and “a four-to-the-floor stomper laced with catchy piano hooks”. There’s a distinctly New York sound that Sherø has known how to capture, even as a current resident of Berlin, that after the release of her 2005 track “Rock The Disco”, she got feedback from New Yorkers swearing she was a Brooklyn girl. “I Came to Jack” features a Robert Owens sample, a house legend best known for what he created with Chicago house group Fingers Inc., so you better stan for talent and get on this pre-order now.
