What does your household discuss over breakfast?
The three of us talked about the new Kendrick Lamar video for ‘Humble’, the second drop of the artist’s highly anticipated new project.
It references TV shows, movies and other pop culture visuals like the Destiny’s Child ‘Bills, Bills, Bills’ video, The Wire, DOPE, the ‘Grey Poupon’ commercial, The Last Supper, Being John Malkovich and The Young Pope. (Shout out to Jude Law for giving me all the life playing Pope Lenny and working those papal robes. I went to a school reigned by evil nuns and I absolutely hated it, so I’m lmao watching that show.)
Mike Will Made-It -who just dropped a fine album himself- produced the track and the video is directed by Dave Meyers and The Little Homies. Dave Meyers is responsible for a slew of amazing videos like Pink – ‘There You Go’ (I remember screaming at the TV when she sent that Kawasaki through the window), Missy Elliott – ‘Get Ur Freak On’ and Jay Z ‘I Just Wanna Love You’.
But let’s be honest, King Kendrick is the real star here.
