Time flies when you are doing great work.
HYPEPEACE, the conscious UK streetwear brand, is celebrating its first anniversary with a pop-up week in their hometown London.
Since September 2016, HYPEPEACE has been supporting specific causes in order to raise awareness and funds, with the proceeds from these sales (60%) being donated to Palestinian NGO Sharek Youth Forum and UK charity Syria Relief.
For the occasion, HYPEPEACE related to KNOTORYUS the highs of the past year, how they are going to celebrate and what to look forward to.
KNOTORYUS: What have been the best moments of this first year?
HYPEPEACE : Being able to donate much more money than ever expected, the worldwide support we've received and meeting and collaborating with great people on our European pop-up tour
KNOTORYUS: What wil be available for purchase at the pop-up?
HYPEPEACE : The PAL17 long sleeve, a Narcy collaboration long sleeve (which will be released on 23/09 with proceeds going to the Preemptive Love Coalition), a new colour way 'HP' t-shirt in red & green, the pop up tour cycling hat 'London' edition and all the products we sell online.
KNOTORYUS: Any special releases?
HYPEPEACE: Here's a little exclusive: our brand new "IMMIGRANT - AUTRE CULTURE" hoodie in a US/UK/GER edition, will be up for pre-order. All of the aforementioned places have large populations of people of double or shared nationalities and this hoodie shows that we stand with them.
KNOTORYUS: What are some of the Pop-Up Week Events that are not to be missed?
HYPEPEACE: On Saturday night 23/09 : 1st birthday dance at The Alibi, lined up: Shy One, Akito, 0Comeups and many more). On Sunday 24/09 : join the panel talk on the future of social mobilisation, followed by the film screening of 'This is my land' by Tamara Erde. On Thursday 28/09, multimedia artist, professor and activist Narcy will be visiting the store and we will be launching our collaboration.
KNOTORYUS: What are you planning for year two?
HYPEPEACE: An actual full collection release, exciting new collaborations with other artists and companies and taking our pop-up store on the road again, hopefully to many different countries.
KNOTORYUS: What are you most proud of?
HYPEPEACE: In May 2017, HYPEPEACE was able to transfer their first donation to Sharek Youth Forum. The £6,000 is being used to build a Sports Equipment Playground Park within Sharek's newly built Youth Village in Kofor Nemeh. The Sports Playground is in the process of completion and is named after HYPEPEACE.
