The singularly intriguing Antwerp footwear label Adult. is giving us everything we want. Firstly, their debut collab with Maison the Faux is here to tug at all edges. Sharing a common design approach, both parties have created a capsule collection devoid of any gender concepts or restraints.
The collection was conceived on the basis of blending 2 archetypes of 'male' and 'female' footwear designs: the hiking boot and high-heeled pump. With the use of materials like faux croc, trompe l'oeil cut-outs, black and red colour scheme and striking lines, these shoes are made for stomping, whomever chooses to lace them up.
The campaign was lensed by Jordan Millington and features the beguiling Love Bailey and Yu Lun Wong.
Simultaneously, this rising label founded by recent Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp Fashion Department graduates Shone Puipia and Raphaële Lenseigne (get your SHOW2018 tickets now), has dropped their AW18 campaign. Shot by Nucha Jaitip and starring models Nalin Satearrujikanon and Ratanasukan Pibulpanuwat, the campaign features "two genderless creatures painting their surroundings to the colors of their choice". The brand promises to always deliver gender fluid footwear, inspired by the growing prominence of the cross-dressing and drag scene in pop culture.
Every Adult. x Maison the Faux style is available for pre-order now in European sizes 36 up to 46 until June 22nd. Shoes will be shipped mid-August.
