TELFAR is Bringing You the Bag of the Season

2017 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Winner Telfar Clemens from Telfar put a lump of his prize money to good use and re-released his statement-making vegan shopping-bag line (the big T stands for 'What's the T?' and for Telfar of course) and previewed a part of the Telfar SS19 collection at London's Serpentine Gallery a couple of days ago.

The collection of shoppers was originally designed for Telfar's FW2014 collection and was only being released in small quantities due to the financial limitations of the company back then.

In a recent interview with Vogue.com Clemens states :

"The bag was actually the first thing we did with the money from the [CFDA/Vogue] Fashion Fund, so it means a lot to us. We designed it years ago but with that investment we were able to make it right—and in quantities—and it sold out immediately. Then we made more and they sold out in a weekend. And again a third time.

It really represents us moving from an idea to a business. It represents everything we are about; like our clothes it’s completely unisex and every possible kind of person can wear it, but it’s also extremely accessible and practical. It was a thing that already existed in the world , but it’s more environmentally sustainable and 100 percent vegan."
