We’re four episodes deep into The Most Season 1!
Sitting down with rising standup comedian Soe Nsuki in her loft is an absolute joy for comedy nerd Dominique, as the pair delve into real talk aplenty. The Antwerp standout went from never before having been on stage -or ever seeing live comedy- to landing her own smash solo standup tour ‘Soetopia’ in little over six years.
On this episode, the duo discuss everything from finding a way to deal with the madness of youth and spinning past trauma into comedy gold (and then figuring out how to tell your family you’re writing standup about them) to bright-eyed dreams for tomorrow. They get into ways to find calm and dealing with patterns of addiction through the right coping mechanisms, problematic faves & being true to your potential. Describing herself as being on the way to goodness while striving for greatness and with a new TV show airing later this year, Soe speaks her own version of the future into existence on this all-new episode of The Most.
So, why Soe? Dominique takes us back to why the invite was sent:
“First of all, I’m obsessed with comedy. The past decade I’ve been to see Dave Chappelle, Charlie Murphy, Kevin Hart, Chris Rock, Frankie Boyle, Russell Brand, Louis CK, Marc Maron,… Plus, I read their autobiographies and I listen to their podcasts. That’s how bad it is. When I started The Most, I vowed to not only make way for the legends and OG’s, but also the maybe slightly lesser known prodigies. I went to the premiere of Soe Nsuki’s solo stand-up tour and was immediately struck by the level of storytelling that she shares with some of my favourite stand-up comics.”
