Future-Driven Footwear Label Giddy Up Launches Online Store

Future-Driven Footwear Label Giddy Up Launches Online Store

Zero gravity footwear, aiming to reshape the way people walk through their day. If you weren’t familiar yet, ‘Giddy Up’ is the Tokyo-based brainchild of feted Japanese designer Mikio Sakabe in collaboration with partner designer Yusuke Hotchi (both alumni of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp). Together they aim to push fashion and tech to the next echelon, stirring up futuristic footwear and one-off garments. Hoping to bring 3D-printed fashion to the masses, the duo has partnered up with Japanese e-commerce company and 3D printing/VR experts DMM. As from now, ‘Giddy’ (the main footwear label) and ‘Giddy Up’ (the 3D-printed offshoot) can be purchased online. Based out of Japan, the online store ships worldwide. From July 30 until August 12 2019, you’ll also be able to shop the first drop at Japanese pop-up space ‘H.P. France destination Tokyo’.

Giddy kicks off their online shopping experience with 2 designs: the ‘Jewelry’ and the ‘Interstellar’. The latter features a transparant, wave-like sole under a knit upper while the former stands out through its prominent translucent bubble sole design (as keen eyes have spotted before in bright hues earlier this summer at Walter Van Beirendonck SS20). Available colourways range from black, white and grey to a blush nude with contrasting soles. Giddy on over before the fun sells out.

The Giddy Up online store is open & ships from Japan. Currently available pairs are priced at €207.
