‘Cede’ is fuelled by rage and indignation, a song like a blade trying to cut loose from lies and pain. Wax Chattels’ singer Amanda Cheng sings (howls) some of it in Taiwanese Hokkien and even if you don’t understand the words, the cry for freedom is unmistakeable.
