Tommy Hilfiger stays on the winning team: shortly after their poignant Martine Rose collab dropped, they’re all set for a new certified smash - together with the cultural giants of Patta. Releasing worldwide online and in Patta chapter stores on December 2 and on December 9 in select stores, is the second Patta x Tommy collection for adults and kids. Inspired by 90s NYC hip-hop, their second collaboration pays tribute to the streets that have influenced both brands from jump.
Patta and Tommy’s first time working together in 2021 led to an instant classic collection celebrating Pan-Africanism and the impactful breadth of the African diaspora. Their sophomore collection reinterprets classic Americana styles and preppy staples in relaxed cuts, emblazoned with the Patta and Tommy emblems. Varsity letterman jackets highlight the year 1993 – a pivotal moment in hip-hop history that saw the commercial breakthrough of Tupac and Snoop Dogg while OutKast, Cypress Hill, Wu-Tang Clan, A Tribe Called Quest, Salt-N-Pepa & RUN DMC released some of their most important bodies of work.
The collab fuses Tommy’s primary colours with Patta’s signature style sensibilities, expressed into 18 genderless styles and a limited selection of children’s resizes.
The campaign features New York native artists Wiki and Mike, repping hip-hop culture in the city of today. For the occasion, the duo crafted an original song titled “One More”, produced by The Alchemist. You can also cop a limited-edition 12” vinyl including a clean, dirty and instrumental mix as well as two additional tracks featuring Mike and Wiki. Watch the accompanying music video by director Nicholas Stafford Briggs and campaign by thee young great Quil Lemons below.
