The word 'obsessed' is bandied about too often.
It sounds too negative, too. I'm trying to find another word for the love Blood Orange seems to have for Michael Jackson. 'Love' is such a formless word. I can't make it stick. It droops down from the surface of everything I try to attach it to. So let's just focus on what Blood Orange is doing instead of putting labels on it. Stick to the action. Blood Orange is releasing a new album called 'Cupid Deluxe' and has so far let two tracks & videos fly out fromtheir pre-release coop. In the first video, Blood Orange dances like Michael Jackson against the backdrop of South Africa, where he meets some of his family members for the first time. In the second video, he is walking along the streets of (I assume) New York while wearing signature Michael Jackson white socks and loafers. In none of these videos, Blood Orange exposes his Michael Jackson 'Bad' tattoo. In both videos, we can clearly hear the new album from Blood Orange is going to be really, really good. Think 'Liberian Girl' for the 21st century. Get ready to become totally obsessed.
