Is it weird if I talk to you about my funeral music right now?
When I first heard ‘The Unanswered Question’ by Charles Yves a couple of years ago, I thought it was a perfect tune for a funeral. This last summer, I’ve mainly listened to it while happily looking at clouds, thinking of nothing.
I aim to do the same on my next plane ride out sunny side USA soon. After my quota of cloud-based bliss has been filled, I will also be dozing off to SLEEP, a newly released eight-hour lullaby by Max Richter, while slumped against my lovely wife.
Speaking of Mr. Richter, the fine folks of FACT Magazine have asked Mr. Max to compose an exclusive mix, and whaddayaknow … it opens with ‘The Unanswered Question’, billowing into Bach, Philip Glass, Cat power and more. I highly recommend it for your next commute, reading session or time spent in or above the clouds.
You can download it for free right here.

If you want to check out more by Max Richter, my favourite Richter piece ever is his recomposed version of Vivaldi.
