I've been following New York-entrepreneur Saada Ahmed for a couple of years now. I got to know her through the Everyday People-instagram page, dedicated to the famous woke brunches and other gatherings she co-hosts in the Big Apple (together with chef Roblé Ali), which she describes as "very LGBT friendly and it’s very black, but it’s very open to everyone else as well.”
Together with 4 other artists, Saada just released the collection she designed for 5x5 by SneakerLab.
5x5 = Five designers, each with their own story to tell. Five never before seen shoe designs from each designer. Only available for five days.
For her collection, she decided to seek inspiration in the causes she cares deeply about and rallies for. All of them great, but the two packs that stood out the most to me and that I really truly madly deeply want in my closet are her Nike Air Force 1 Low: Black Power and her Nike Air Max 90: No Borders.
Unfortunately though, SneakerLab doesn't ship internationally, so I will have to holler at one of my US-connects. But seriously take a look below and then click through to the 5x5 page to look at all the designs including those of frequent Colette collaborator Kevin Lyons. And remember: time is ticking, come end of the week, these will be all gone.
$140 dollar, I mean.
