Today was recording day #2 of the Maybelline Guide. Jeez, I'm thinking it's going to be a great show. For Sure. But what I'm most certain about is that I'm meeting some dope dope people because of it! The highlight of today -and I think we shook hands with almost 50 different people- was finally meeting Alice...Alice owns, runs & breathes life into A.L.I.C.E. Gallery in the dodgy but lively & fun part of Rue Dansaert. She supports the artists she likes longtime. And it looks like it's going to pay off big time! At the moment she's renting out her gallery to Sozyone Gonzales who a.o. did the artwork for Baloji's new album. Sozyone is hiding in this luxury cave & he's conceiving some pure genius paintings. Alice gave us a preview of his new work and I'm telling you, this guy is going to blow up like you ain't never seen. I'm definitely going to try and buy one of his works from his upcoming exhibition in December... It's going to look good in the new KNOTORYUS offices. But please, don't wait that long to pay A.L.I.C.E. a visit.
In September & October Alice is hosting the Sixe exhibition and in November she'll be showing works of the seriously talented photographers Nicolas Karakatsanis and Toon Aerts.
Her shop, you can visit any given day. It's packed with niceness. And so is she.
