What? "Nowhere" was the name of the first Bape store in Tokyo. It was designed and conceived by Nigo and Jun Takashi. Now that the official Bape store in London is closing down, Dover Street Market will be hosting a temporary, exact replica of "Nowhere" in its basement.
Why? "Nowhere LDN" will be stocking more than the usual Bape stock. Nigo & Jun agreed to re-create some of the very first Bape pieces in strict limited edition. "Nowhere" was a milestone in retail history, as it singlehandedly re-invented the "hard to find" and limited edition hype that is still going these days. "Nowhere" had no official address, no website and did zero advertising or press. You just had to find it yourself. Bape gear became a rare trophy for those in the know and soon, the Bape empire expanded all over the world.

Drive slow, homey: We all know the first Bapes were a Nike AF1 knock-off tribute. Plus, the Clipse said it best: "Bape? You're late. We call you Tokyo buffoons."
But I want it now! "Nowhere" at Dover Street Market opens tomorrow. If you can pop by tonight and if you feel like shelling out for the Bape Book, you can get it signed by the capo di tutti camo capi: Nigo himself.
Signing starts at 7PM.
