I've you've ever wondered what Brooklynite Santigold might be doing today, chances are you weren't imagining her on a horse wearing puffy pants (Santi, not the horse) and swinging a mallet. Turns out she's taking Polo lessons. And doing quite well for an inner city girl who also happens to be allergic to horses.
Vodafone tagged along for her first training day as part of their 'Heroes' series. Watch the video of Santi training to be a professional polo player HERE.

Do you own a horse?
No. Actually my dad had two horses when I grew up. They got them when I was a teenager and by the time they got them I was allergic.
You’re allergic to horses?
Yeah. I’m actually allergic to them.
So you take medication?
Yeah. I take Claritin now. I just found out about Claritin a year and a half ago when I did my L.E.S Artistes video. It works for me but prior to that the only thing was Benadryl and I hate Benadryl. It makes me feel so tired and sick so I stopped riding horses when I got allergic. But now that I can ride horses again I will. I’m kind of bummed that I missed on the whole time my family had horses.
Yeah. What were the two horses called?
I don’t even know. I seriously couldn’t even go to the stable. I went there one time and I waited in the car and I got hives… just from being in the car.
You got high?
I got hives.
