Moses Sumney doesn't do music videos, he does stunning, stirring and thought-provoking short films that deepen the experience of his already cinematic tracks.
For "Quarrel", he uses the shocking and beautiful art of the incredible Belgian artist Berlinde De Bruyckere. (Especially the work "No Life Lost II" from 2015.)
The art installations themselves are of horse corpses, heaped together, bound or transformed, sometimes hung from a rope on wooden constructions.
In Moses Sumney's version, we see a man in an intense relationship with a stable of horses that develops into a transformative experience (literally). Watch until the end and keep an eye on the shadows.
