Of all the frequencies this planet currently is tuning into, the flute is one I wouldn’t have guessed 5 years ago. Similar to André 3000’s recent culture-shifting album, the breath, cleansing vibrations, fragile flow and delicately tuning into universal reality are the essential underpinnings of the beautiful Shabaka debut “Perceive Its Beauty, Acknowledge Its Grace”. London-born, Barbados-raised and forged in collaborations with The Comet Is Coming and Sons of Kemet, the talent and presence of Shabaka Hutchings brings us one of the first sure picks for ‘Album of the year 2024’.
