Idris Vicuña has been bubbling up from the more interesting layers of our current reality for a few years now. With the rising tide of TikTok-aesthetics’ influence on global culture, his new Eyedress album “Mulholland Drive” just might bubble over into every 2021 playlist worth its salt. The album has some unexpected collabs (e.g. King Rule) and sounds, but the “Body Dysmorphia” lead single sticks to the fan favourites: cute, positive lyrics in a dust-cloud of lo-fi fuzzy filters, 90’s beats and indie guitar licks with an angry edge. The video is -literally- a wild ride, some of it taped during illegal street races.
