This Saturday, the Textile & Fashion students of the Royal Academy of Art The Hague will be holding their annual graduate fashion show ‘SHOW2016’ and we’re so ready.
Just like with the Antwerp Fashion Department’s Mirror Mirror On The Wall magazine, industry greats Paul Boudens, Inge Grognard and Ronald Stoops collaborated to create the striking imagery for SHOW2016. Like a still from a Takashi Shimizu fever dream, model Suzi Leenaars forebodes an intriguing show in a design by graduate Rachael Cheong. Following right on the - undoubtedly well-sculpted - heels of the fashion show, the exhibition ‘EXPOSED’ will be held at the same location as the show, the Elektriciteitsfabriek. 'EXPOSED' grants visitors the opportunity to get a closer look at the eight graduate collections (amongst which Belgian graduate Sarah Lauwaert's "I Need To Be Protected" collection) and other textile projects.
Both the ‘SHOW2016’ and 'EXPOSED’ posters were art directed by Department Head Jurgi Persoons: the Belgian avantgarde, provocative creative force who has been at the helm of The Hague’s fashion department since 2013. Creative direction was done by Peter De Potter, another world-renowned Belgian artist who needs no introduction from me, especially not since Pablo came alive.
